Install the browser assistant
The first release is available as an unpacked Chrome or Edge extension. It is not yet listed in the Chrome Web Store. Download the ZIP, extract it, open your browser's extensions page, enable developer mode and choose Load unpacked. Select the extracted folder containing manifest.json.
Download browser assistantFor Chrome, open chrome://extensions. For Edge, open edge://extensions. Keep the extracted folder in a stable location so the browser can continue loading it. When a new version is released, download and extract the new package, then reload the extension. Use your normal QuickHunt account to save an application; no extra subscription is required for saving.
Save a listing you choose
Open an individual job posting on Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby, then click the extension and choose Read this listing. Review the detected role, company, URL and description in the popup. Correct incomplete information before choosing Open in QuickHunt. Your tracker opens with an editable application form; the record is created only when you save that form.
The extension works from supported posting pages and does not monitor your browsing. Detection depends on the page's markup. A posting may not expose the full description in a readable structure; confirm the text yourself and paste missing details. For other sites, including LinkedIn, use the normal tracker form and enter details manually. The assistant does not scrape LinkedIn or submit applications.
Review contact fields before filling
In the signed-in browser tools workspace, choose your resume and copy a contact profile. Paste that profile into the extension on a supported application form. Choose Preview contact fields to see which empty fields match the profile, then apply only the selected values.
This first version handles basic name, email, phone and supported profile-link fields. It does not upload files, fill passwords, invent work history, answer screening questions or click Submit. Existing nonempty values are skipped. Review the complete form and employer requirements yourself before submitting on the employer's site.
What access the extension uses
The extension requests activeTab and scripting so an explicit button click can read or fill the current supported page. It has no background content script, no broad website access and no QuickHunt API key. A copied contact profile stays in the popup's memory and is cleared when the popup closes; keep it private and paste only into the trusted extension.
Job details are handed to QuickHunt in a URL fragment, which is not part of the server request. The application form remains editable, and the tracker stores only the details you choose to save. Follow the employer's rules for its website and use manual entry if the page is unsupported or the detected fields are uncertain.
